Financial Protection

Staying Compliant

All TrustMark Registered Businesses are required to provide their customers with the appropriate level of financial protection

TrustMark requires that all Registered Businesses provide a minimum two-year financial protection mechanism for all works carried out in and around the home.  This includes but is not limited to product warranties and workmanship. You can also protect your investment with TrustMark's low-cost escrow service.

Many Registered Businesses will have the ability to offer you a more comprehensive financial protection cover, so make sure you request full details from their provider.

The financial protection mechanism will cover you against certain risks if the business were to cease trading for any reason.  The protection on offer may vary slightly from business to business, depending on their provider – but whichever financial protection mechanism is on offer, it must cover all of the following:

*Prepayments

*2-Year Post Completion of Workmanship as a minimum

*Rectification of defects or major damage

*Non-compliance with Building Regulations

We have provided a list of financial protection providers that have not had their financial protection mechanism approved by TrustMark, they have been provided here to help direct consumers wishing to make a claim or businesses looking for financial protection for non-ECO and ECO measures where it is not compulsory to provide an approved appropriate guarantee from the list below.

It is the responsibility of the ECO supply chain to determine whether a product/system is suitable and to ensure that it meets all relevant ECO requirements, in addition to any set out in the TrustMark approved guarantees;  because a measure is eligible for a guarantee it does not automatically mean that it is ECO eligible.

Requirements when installing 25 Year ECO Measures

When looking to install any of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) measures, TrustMark is pleased to announce to the supply chain that an approved guarantee is now available for all these measures.  The information below provides full details of which financial protection mechanisms are available, from which providers, with the appropriate contact details to help you make the necessary arrangements.

Please note, it is now a mandatory requirement that all 25 year ECO measures, as listed below, are accompanied by an approved appropriate guarantee:

External Wall Insulation (EWI)
Internal Wall Insulation (IWI)
Cavity Wall Insulation (CWI)
Hybrid Wall Insulation
Park Home Insulation
Room-in-Roof Insulation
Under Floor Insulation

We have created a simple infographic to explain what the requirement is for each measure.
