What is TrustMark

TrustMark is a quality mark which operates a framework under which 31 Scheme Operators work in the RMI (repair, maintenance and improvement) sector, including trade associations, local government trading standards teams, and independent Scheme Operators. These schemes are approved to carry the TrustMark logo and recruit reputable and trustworthy tradesmen. This enables the TrustMark Scheme Operators to promote improved RMI sector standards, and tackle related issues such as better enforcement. All of these Scheme Operators are audited annually by TrustMark, to ensure processes, standards and complaint procedures are being maintained. Find out how TrustMark benefits consumers and tradespeople by watching our short clip here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=deGWQ__OnWQ

If you want to know more about the standards we expect all approved Scheme Operators and TrustMark registered firms to meet - please see the Core Criteria download link below or contact the TrustMark office on tel: 0333 555 1234 or e.mail: info@trustmark.org.uk to obtain a copy.

The TrustMark Core Criteria will now be reviewed and updated every year. This is an 18 page document setting out the standards they have to operate to and detailing:

  • Scheme Operator's organisation
  • Members Code of Practice
  • Members assessment and monitoring
  • Customer care
  • Disciplinary processes
  • Warranty protection
  • Branding & communication
  • Monitoring by TrustMark Board

Many of our approved Scheme Operators insist their tradesmen meet higher standards due to the requirements of the particular specialist trade and it is always worth finding out exactly what they require of their members so that you know what you are entitled to expect.

In return, you as the customer are expected to:

  • Deal fairly with the firm
  • Agree a fair price for good work
  • Pay quickly when the job is finished
