About The Role

We are now looking to recruit a driven individual from a building trade/Construction-related background to undertake assurance and compliance visits to properties after the completion of the work being undertaken. The surveys will be based on the Whole House Approach to energy efficiency within the domestic property environment. Therefore, good domestic building knowledge, preferably through a related trade qualification would be preferable.

Travelling to properties is a fundamental part of the role. Therefore successful candidates will be selected on their suitability and flexibility to cover geographies in and around each of the following areas:

  • Manchester, M62 corridor
  • Newcastle, Tyne and Wear
  • Birmingham, West Midlands
  • Glasgow and surrounding area

This role will report into a Lead Surveyor within the Quality Assurance Team and will be home-based with an expectation to visit the TrustMark offices, based in Basingstoke, regularly.

About You

Here’s what you will need to be successful in the role:

  • Significant building trade/construction-based knowledge and experience within domestic energy retrofit.
  • Ideally hold qualifications or similar qualifications relevant to the Building trade/Construction relation to domestic energy retrofit.
  • Experience and awareness of building construction, standards, and legislation.
  • Ability to work remotely and on your own initiative, managing your portfolio of work efficiently to deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality in all areas of your work.
  • Provide excellent customer service - being the external representative of TrustMark to homeowners.
  • Possess strong communication, interpersonal and written skills.
  • Be empathetic and understanding of situations but with the ability to remain independent, focusing on the matter in hand.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and associated applications.
  • A successful track record of delivering building/trades services, or management of substantial work programmes in a similar environment would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Travelling will be required and may include some overnight accommodation away from home.
  • A current and valid driving license will be required, as will a DBS clearance.
