An endorsement from the Prime Minister!

We were pleased to receive an endorsement from the Prime Minister recently. Writing in response to a question about the problem of rogue traders sent in by a reader of the Leicester Mercury, the PM states:

"The Government recognises this is a real problem and we have been working with the industry to improve standards and safeguards on home improvements and repairs... we launched the TrustMark scheme to provide protection across a whole range of building works and trades.

"Under TrustMark, all the organisations and firms who sign up pledge to meet a range of standards set down by the Government, the building industry and consumer groups on the quality of service and work they provide and agree a proper complaints process. The best thing to do is use a TrustMark approved firm."
