Every TrustMark registered firm must give you the opportunity to buy a warranty.
This is an insurance policy covering you against certain problems if the firm goes out of business.
Each TrustMark firm may through their scheme operator have a different warranty product to offer you - but whatever the insurance on offer, TrustMark standards dictate that the warranty must cover things such as:
The warranty must be designed purely for individual private homeowners and must cover most jobs between £250 and £50,000. The insurance cover must last for at least six years.
That's a summary of the basic minimum required by TrustMark standards. It's not meant to be comprehensive cover, but it is designed to give you the option of greater financial protection.
Many firms will be able to offer you a more comprehensive warranty cover, so make sure you request full details.
