Following the popularity of Friends Against Scams, today Businesses Against Scams has been launched. The scheme will give advice and support to businesses to help them understand potential scams in these trying times.

Approved by the Joint Fraud Task Force and the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, the scheme has also had input from the Home Office, UK Finance and the City of London Police.

Upon signing up, businesses will be asked to answer a few short questions before being given access to a range of materials to support them such as:

  • A short PowerPoint training session which explains and discusses government tax relief and rebate scams, CEO fraud, invoice/mandate fraud and tech fraud. The presentation will go through examples of each, how to spot them and more importantly how to protect your business from these scams.

  • Fact sheets around the scams and known information.

  • Postcards and posters to use.

  • More information and resources over time to help you.
