TrustMark, the only Government-endorsed ‘find a tradesperson’ scheme in the UK, has appointed new chairman, Paul Ramsden to spearhead future directions of the company. Paul, formerly a consumer-representative board director of TrustMark, has taken over from Liz Male MBE who has served her seat as chairman for six years.
Having been a non-executive board director of TrustMark with a well-rounded background in the private, public and charity sectors, Paul is now extending his existing involvement with the Government-backed scheme. Paul’s had extensive experience adapting to change and lists one of his strengths as being able to adapt to grow and develop organisations with potential.
Paul commenced his new role alongside his full-time position as Chief Executive of Carers Choices and as a Non-Executive Director at the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. The new role at TrustMark will build on his existing experience in the Repair, Maintenance and Improvement sector, which Paul has been working in for over 12 years.
Paul Ramsden said “I am delighted to be appointed to this role.  TrustMark is a fantastic initiative and partnership between Scheme Operators all working together to the same standards, to avoid consumer confusion and promote reputable tradespeople.
“Assisting with the original creation of TrustMark and sitting on the Board for many years, I jumped at the opportunity to lead the organisation through a very important chapter.
“I am fortunate that we have a very strong representational Board, an excellent Executive Team and a diverse range of stakeholders, including our Scheme Operators, all working together to protect consumers from rogue traders.
“I am confident that working together TrustMark’s influence and worth will grow to ensure that we achieve our consumer protection objectives.”
