As Britain braces itself for a spate of bitterly cold weather,
predictions of snow, sleet and gusty winds up to 50mph, TrustMark
urges property owners to secure all large trees ahead of the
forecasted winter weather. Trees within private properties are
often forgotten in the preparation for freezing weather, yet they
can lead to severe damage not just to the buildings, but cars and
people too if not made safe. Areas affected by the recent storms in
November are particularly at high risk as the floods would have
weekend roots and dislodged several trees.
Roman Russocki, Chief Executive of TrustMark, says: "Ensuring that
any large trees on your property are secured safely is one of the
most important tasks you can undertake to protect you and your
surroundings as we batten down the hatches for the winter
months. The last thing anyone wants over the festive period
is for gusty weather to dislodge branches causing them to take out
the telephone line, snap onto the parked cars below or block the
road outside your property."
Roman Russocki continues, "It is therefore vital that homeowners
do their best to minimise the potential damage and risk to others
by calling on qualified tree surgeons to tackle any large trees
that are looking unstable. Felling a tall tree is an incredibly
dangerous task, one that should not be attempted by anyone other
than a fully qualified Tree Surgeon who is trained to remove
sections of the tree safely."
"Fortunately for homeowners, finding a reputable local Tree
Surgeon couldn't be easier with the help of TrustMark. Simply
search the database for a list of fully qualified Tree Surgeons in
your area."
